Call for Creative Contributions
Are you an artist or creative practitioner, and interested in building an anti-racist world through the arts?
We invite all members of our U-M community–students, staff, faculty, and alumni–to submit your artistic, creative, or innovative response to the theme of the DEI Summit 2020: “Arts+Social Change: Building an Anti-Racist World through the Arts”
- SUBMIT an original creative response/piece that can be part of our online showcase, such as images (photos, drawings, diagrams, etc.) and videos (documentation, performance, spoken word, etc.). Need inspiration? See our suggested prompts below.
- WATCH for the launch of our online gallery of submissions on our Summit website on Monday, October 26 and JOIN US for the virtual Community Assembly & Discussion from 10-11:30 a.m. when we will highlight selected works.

Use this Submission Link to upload your GIF, PDF, JPEG, PPT, DOC, MP3 file that is 1MG or less. Pictures need to be at least 800×600 pixels. You may upload a maximum of 5 files. The submission form asks for the following information:
- Name (required)
- Please indicate if you would like your name to be displayed: Yes/No (required)
- Email address (required; will not be displayed)
- Title of your submission (optional; to be displayed if provided)
- Your university status: undergraduate, graduate/postdoc, staff, faculty/lecturer, alumni, community member (required)
- A brief description of no more than 150 words (to be displayed with your submission).
- Opportunity to upload up to 5 files of no more than 1GB per file
Tips for a Quality Recording
- Review these filming tips prior to recording your video.
- Be mindful of anything that may appear in the background of your video.
Submissions should be your own work. Your submission is considered to be permission for further use by the University of Michigan.
